What a claimant needs to do to help their Social Security Disability Attorney

Many clients ask what they can do to help their Social Security Disability Attorney win their case. The most important thing you can do is go to the doctor, follow your doctor’s advice and take medications as prescribed.  These things help you as well!

Regular medical treatment provides evidence necessary to win your case.  But what if you can not afford to go to the doctor or pay for your medications? Clients that are going through the Social Security Disability process frequently do not have insurance or money to afford medical treatment. I advise clients to apply for Medicaid for the Disabled at their local Social Services.

You can find local NC Social Services here.

Also, pharmaceutical companies usually have patient assistance programs that will help you get your medications.  Try the below two places:

  1. MedAssist: http://www.medassist.org/
  2. Partnership for Prescription Assistance:  http://www.pparx.org/

Mental health treatment can usually be attained in NC at no cost. Look in your local area for mental health providers.  Also, look into your local health department for medical care.

Many claimants ask what they need to do to help their Social Security Disability Attorney win their case. In my opinion, the best thing a client can do is make every effort to get well. If you try every way you can to get better and still do not improve, that means you are disabled.
